After receiving a B.S. in Cognitive Science with a specialization in computing from UCLA in 1997, Mr. Gobuty worked for several years in business before changing his focus to the study of International Trade, and International Business Law. Through an internship with the Export Assistance Center of the United States Department Of Commerce, he envisioned a career in trade-law, and entered law school at UC Davis School of law to master the legal issues affecting export businesses, and expand his independent consulting business, Radent International. But, as happens with many law students, his interests changed. In his first year of law school, he came across a book entitled “habeas codfish” that resulted in an epicurean epiphany. Recognizing an inquestual relationship between his palate and the law, he founded the school’s official wine law organization, known as Lex Vini. Forming relationships with the UC Davis school of Viticulture and Enology, and expanding his interests in the Law of the Wine, he became engrossed with the trade dispute between states involving Alcohol Direct Shipping Legislation. The following comment is a culmination of his research on the subject.
