B.A. Biology, Computing and Information Science Specialization, Cornell University, 2004 J.D. Candidate, UC Davis School of Law, 2009 Academic Interests: Biotechnology, genetics, intellectual property, entrepreneurship. Other Interests: Ice hockey, enology, table tennis Prior to attending law school, Ashutosh had extensive experience working for the National Cancer Institute as a researcher in both molecular biology and computational biology. Frustrated with the disconnect often present between scientific discovery and public policy, Ashutosh decided on a J.D. instead of a Ph.D. The appeal of law lies in its utter practicality of application to daily life - an often stark contrast to abstract scientific discoveries.
